SUMMARY:Alnoba Art Tours
DESCRIPTION:Tickets $15 per person. All proceeds donated to support Kensington’s Sawyer Park \nAlnoba’s renowned art collection was created to inspire\, delight\, challenge and provoke. \nHere\, art isn’t something precious admired from a distance. It’s bold and wild\, springing from Alnoba’s unique natural landscape and daring you to engage. \nThe collection includes masterworks by some of the most respected artists of our age\, including Andy Goldsworthy\, Orly Genger\, Jaume Plensa\, John Lopez\, Allan Houser and Ursula von Rydingsvard. \nOn your tour\, our enthusiastic volunteer guides will introduce you to the stories behind the artists and their work. Many of our pieces represent vital themes of social justice and sustainability\, challenging us all to go one step further than we thought we could toward a better world. \nGuided tour details \n\nWalk starts at 10AM promptly and lasts for roughly 90 minutes. Please make sure you are in the parking lot before then. Guide will meet you there.\nGuests must stay with the guide at all times.\nPlease dress appropriately for exploring the outdoors.\nWear appropriate footwear and bring a bottle of water and sunscreen.\nBe prepared to walk at an easy pace\, with some breaks\, for the full ninety minutes.\nAlnoba’s buildings are closed. Walkers may use the portable restroom in our parking lot.\nNo dogs are permitted on the property.\nThis is a walking tour only – no bicycles.\n\n*Due to its location\, the guided tour will not include Andy Goldsworthy\, “Boulder House”. \nThe tour takes place outdoors\, sometimes on uneven terrain\, with a roughly 2 mile walk. He teaches Asana\, Meditation and Yogic philosophy\, leading workshops and retreats in the US and internationally. \nHe is the author of The Mind Overlay and The Other Side of Me\, readable and engaging guides to inner transformation. \nAbout the Alnoba Peace Foundation \nA world in need of healing \nFrom climate change to the impact of technology on our minds and the economy\, our world is in crisis. A winner-take-all society isolates us from each other and from the earth that sustains us. Our communities are broken\, consumption and waste run rampant\, and we are severed from the healing power of the natural world. \nBoth we and the world need a change. Start that change on the inside. You can overcome the harmful and destructive patterns imposed on you by this broken world we’re living in\, opening to a more natural and authentic way of engaging with yourself and our planet. \nThe power to change \nThere are both ancient and pioneering tools you can use to rewrite your patterns\, breaking free of the old way of thinking and being as you tap into something stronger: a way of living that connects us harmoniously to both each other and the earth we share. \nManny Muros has spent decades studying\, practicing and sharing the spiritual techniques that lead to greater self-awareness and self-realization. His wisdom teachings are insights gained through a lifetime of deep practice and exploration. Through meditation and affirmative practices\, he teaches students how to center\, deconstruct old patterns and recover a truer way of being. \nThe sacred land of Alnoba\, with its pristine fields and forests and inspiring collection of outdoor art\, serves as a potent space for undertaking this journey of transformation. \nBe the difference \nTo use the ancient words of wisdom: as it is above\, so it is below. The world we cultivate inside ourselves makes a real impact on the one that surrounds us. By changing one\, we impact the other. \nStep forward into your own change\, breaking free of a paradigm that destroys both our well-being and that of our planet. Discover a healthier\, more authentic alternative that empowers you to be the change you seek.

SUMMARY:Speaker Series: Sam Evans-Brown
DESCRIPTION:Reservations required. Thursday June 30th from 4PM to 7PM. Includes time to enjoy a glass of wine from the cash bar and explore Alnoba’s ground and art. \nSam Evans-Brown is a hopeful guy. While he feels the threats posed by climate change are very real\, he’s optimistic about our potential to make the necessary changes to bring global warming into line and protect our future. \nThat’s why he stepped away from his microphone at NHPR\, where for years he produced the station’s award-winning Outside/In podcast about how we humans interact with our natural world. Sam now leads Clean Energy New Hampshire\, a plucky advocacy group dedicated to pushing for the state-level policy changes that can help bring New Hampshire into a cleaner\, greener energy future. \nIn this special evening at Alnoba\, Sam will reveal how the costs of renewable energy are plummeting\, changing our energy systems in dramatic – and exciting – new ways. So why is New Hampshire still operating with last century’s energy policies when it’s past time to reimagine our institutions for a clean energy future? \nAbout Sam Evans-Brown \nAs executive director of Clean Energy New Hampshire\, Sam leads the organization in its effort to create a cleaner\, more affordable\, and more resilient energy system in the Granite State Sam was a podcast host and radio journalist or nearly ten years\, during which he wrote stories about New England energy issues extensively and won several regional and national awards. \nBOOK TICKETS
