Over the course of the afternoon attendees will deepen their connection to their mind\, body\, and spirit through Qi-Gong\, ceremonial Cacao\, and meditation. We will explore the Mineral and Plant Kingdoms as allies as we tend to the “light body”; expanding the heart field and ultimately connecting to the frequency of Universal Love. Additionally\, attendees will discover the transformational practice of ho’oponopono\, a traditional Hawaiian practice that aids us in improving our relationship with ourselves\, with others\, and our world. \nEvent Overview: \n1. Open the day with an offering of sacred smoke as participants arrive\n2. Together we will co-create intentions for self love and self care\n3. Healing Practitioner AJ will set a crystal grid to sanctify space\, amplifying our collective intentions and healing\n4. We are looking forward to more added sessions this year. \nAbout Karyl Misserville \nKaryl is a registered yoga teacher with over 400 hours of training in Asana\, Pranayama\, Meditation and Philosophy. She has additional training in Yin\, Restorative and Yoga Nidra. Karyl teahces Ashtanga-based Vinyasa as well as Chair Yoga. Karyl loves helping students develop a mind-body connection through slow\, strong movement and breath awareness. \nRules and guidelines \n\nWalk to the teahouse starts at 10AM. Doors open at 4PM for time to enjoy a glass of wine from the cash bar and explore Alnoba’s ground and art. \nIn the midst of a successful career in bronze sculpting\, John Lopez discovered this exciting new direction: scrap iron sculpting. “I am never bored! I look forward to each new creation\, and it is helping me grow and develop as an artist\,” he says. \nJoin us for an intimate conversation with South Dakota Sculpture\, John Lopez\, as he talks about his life as an artist and what inspires him. Get the opportunity to see his work up close and personal! Lopez’ sculpture\, Wild West Buffalo\, is located on the field in front of Alnoba; Black Hawk is the signature sculpture at The Farm at Eastman’s Corner and The Acrobat is a smaller\, more playful piece at the entrance to Sawyer Park in Kensington. \nJohn found a way to merge the two art forms into a new hybrid sculpture of everyday objects mixed with limited edition bronze castings. Hybrid metal art is a sculptural fusion of figurative and funk; a blend of iron and bronze. \n“That’s what really motivates me is the strength of the animal. As they’re coming to life\, it kind of moves me to keep going and keep pushing and see if I can make it more alive.” \n– John Lopez \nMore about the speaker\nJohn Lopez was fortunate to find his talent for sculpting during his senior year in college while taking a required course at Northern State University. John was able to build a career in bronze without ever leaving his rather isolated prairie home in South Dakota. Having grown up on a ranch\, he is still a good hand with horses and cattle. It is logical that he would first sculpt the things he knew best…horses\, cows\, cowboys and prairie wildlife. Lopez became well-known as a sculptor; his work was in demand. Your tour will take place by way of one of our electric cars. Our enthusiastic and welcoming volunteer guide will drive you to some of Alnoba’s most-loved outdoor art pieces\, such as Orly Genger’s Going\, Going\, Gone and Patrick Dougherty’s Wildwood\, introducing you to their history and context. We are excited to share with you our brand new art including a hidden gem contructed by Andy Goldsworthy in late 2022\, as well as a whimsical journey through winding willow branches formed by Patrick Dougherty. \nThis tour lasts roughly 60-90 minutes. Attendees must be able to get in and out of the electric car without assistance. If any companions or helpers are coming and wish to attend the tour\, they must purchase a ticket as well. \nMotorized tour details \n\nMeet your tour guide in the Alnoba parking lot at the tour start time. Tours leave promptly – please arrive in plenty of time. Guests who arrive after the group departs will not be able to join the tour.\nNo dogs allowed.\nBuildings are closed. A portable restroom is available in the parking lot.\nCasual attire is recommended. Film screening begins at 5PM\, followed by Q&A session with the director. \nDiscover the vast and strangely beautiful places where things go to die and meet the people who collect\, restore\, and recycle the world’s scrap. SCRAP scratches beneath flaking paint and rusting metal to reveal the beauty and pathos in the ugliness we leave behind. \nThis film also features South Dakota sculpture\, John Lopez\, whose work is included in our extensive outdoor art collection. See his work up close and personal before the film! \nSynopsis\nAward winning feature film\, SCRAP\, is a love letter to the things we use in our daily lives. This cinematic documentary tells the stories of people who each have a connection to objects that have reached their ‘end of life’. Together their stories convey a deeper environmental and human message about our relationship to things\, the sadness we feel at their eventual loss\, and the joy of we can find in giving them a new purpose. The film raises awareness about the fate of the things we use and explores how artists\, and other creative thinkers\, can be a part of giving new life to the things we discard. \nIn addition to viewing this incredible film\, you will also have the amazing opportunity to meet the director\, Stacey Tenenbaum for a Q&A session following the film. Stacey is passionate about making cinematic films that are filled with humor and heart.  In 2014 she founded H2L Productions\, a boutique documentary film production company specializing in crafting character driven stories which are shot internationally.  H2L Productions’ first documentary Shiners\, premiered at Hot Docs and was broadcast on the documentary Channel\, TV5\, and PBS.  Stacey’s second film Pipe Dreams also premiered at Hot Docs and was broadcast on the documentary Channel\, NHK\, SVT and PBS. Scrap is her third feature documentary. \nAbout John Lopez\nSculptor John Lopez was born and raised on a ranch in Western South Dakota. He studied sculpture at Northern State University and had a successful career in bronze casting before he started working with scrap metal.  John is known for his life-size hybrid metal sculptures made from discarded farm equipment and bronze castings. His sculptures can be found in private collections and public venues across the USA and in France\, Monaco\, and Qatar. You can also see his work at the Kokomo Inn\, a gallery and sculpture park created by John in his hometown of Lemmon\, South Dakota. \n  \nSCRAP: SOCIAL IMPACT  \nSCRAP highlights our attachment to things we use in our daily lives and shows what happens to them when they reach their end of life. The SCRAP impact campaign will carry the conversation forward by encouraging people to value the things they use\, see beauty in the discarded\, buy things that are built to last\, and think of ways we can repair\, reuse\, and repurpose. The campaign will focus on four key areas: The Circular Economy\, products made to last\, communities share resources\, and materials to be repaired and reused to create as little waste; Right to Repair\, movement that compels companies to make information\, parts and tools for repairing their products available to customers and repair shops; Upcycling\, finding new purpose for things that would otherwise be thrown-away; Urban Exploration\, Urban Explorers photograph things that are abandoned and discarded and show beauty of things we throw away while helping to preserve history. \n  \nBUY TICKETS

The lead singer\, Rodney Brunelle\, has an undeniable Johnny Cash voice and decided to make it his mission in life to keep the stories of Johnny Cash going… you will swear ” CASH ” is in the house! \nCounterfeit CASH has played all across New England\, and we are thrilled to hear their live renditions from one of the most iconic country rock singers in history\, as well as other legends such as Hank Williams. It is going to be one fun event! \nThis event will take place on the lawn by Alnoba’s 1848 Barn\, next to the waters of Charward Pond. In the event of rain\, we will move the music inside the barn. Our enthusiastic and welcoming volunteer guide will drive you to some of Alnoba’s most-loved outdoor art pieces\, such as Orly Genger’s Going\, Going\, Gone and Patrick Dougherty’s Wildwood\, introducing you to their history and context. We are excited to share with you our brand new art including a hidden gem contructed by Andy Goldsworthy in late 2022\, as well as a whimsical journey through winding willow branches formed by Patrick Dougherty. \nThis tour lasts roughly 60-90 minutes. Attendees must be able to get in and out of the electric car without assistance. If any companions or helpers are coming and wish to attend the tour\, they must purchase a ticket as well. \nMotorized tour details \n\nMeet your tour guide in the Alnoba parking lot at the tour start time. Discuss the gorgeous art installations of world-renowned artists located in Alnoba during the walk. Sturdy shoes and woods attire suggested for your comfort. \nNotes and Guidelines \n\nWalk starts promptly at 10AM and lasts for roughly 90 minutes. DESCRIPTION:Alnoba’s Full Moon Walks are one of our most popular events\, taking an intimate group of guests on a guided walk through Alnoba’s artwork\, fields and trails under the light of the full moon. Finish the evening with a gathering around the bonfire in our Big Top Field and see what some of our most popular artworks look like in that ethereal glow. The walk will last roughly 90-120 minutes. \nOur guides will share stories of the history of Alnoba’s land. This month\, we’ll explore how the June full moon is named differently in diverse parts of the world – Strawberry Moon after the seasonal harvest in North America\, Rose Moon in Europe\, and Hot Moon to signal the start of summer heat in other cultures. \n*Please note we cannot guarantee the moon will be visible due to the natural elements.  \nRules and guidelines \n\nWalk starts promptly at 8:00PM. Add to that voice enough stage presence to tame lions\, and the combination of feline femininity proves immediately enchanting. There’s soul flowing in and out of her rock ‘n’ roll with a serpentine seduction. Some of soul music’s sweet\, grand dames belt\, shout\, seethe\, and succumb\, while Wright sings gently like a heartache’s apology. It’s funky in spots and beautiful all over. And it hurts a little … like it should. She will be preforming her trio sessions.\n\nThis event will take place on the lawn by Alnoba’s 1848 Barn\, next to the waters of Charward Pond. In the event of rain\, we will move the music inside the barn. Cash bar with beer and wine available. The materials used in Andy Goldsworthy’s art includes mud\, pinecones\, snow\, stone\, leaves\, twigs and water. \nOn this tour\, a docent will take you on an exploration of four Goldsworthy pieces – including one brand new piece\, as well as another that is part of a private collection and rarely available for public viewing. \n\nWatershed Boulder\, a monumental installation that evolves with the rain\, ice and snow\nBoulder House\, constructed in-situ around an enormous glacial boulder\nPassage\, a powerful and experiential piece featured in the Andy Goldsworthy documentary Leaning Into The Wind\nNEW: Five Ten\, an impactful native stone building built around a recently discovered rustic and timeless car that tells a story through unique features in its wheel\, and bullet holes throughout the chassis.\n\nAll proceeds from this event are donated to support Kensington’s Sawyer Park\, a 35-acre public community park that provides a safe and beautiful place for families from across the region to gather outside. \nGuided tour details \n\nDifficulty Level: Involving roughly 2 mile walk up and down hills and along narrow trails over uneven ground.\nRecommended for ages 10 and up.\nMeet your tour guide in the Alnoba parking lot at the tour start time.
