SUMMARY:Changemakers: Leaders Who Slayed Goliath
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday September 14th from 4PM to 7PM. Includes time to enjoy a glass of wine from the cash bar and explore Alnoba’s ground and art. \nWorking to protect our planet means stepping up to the big fights against overwhelming odds. At this special event\, hear from two daring leaders who did just that—and won. They’ll share their stories of how Conservation Law Foundation helped to kill Exxon Mobil’s Everett oil tank farm and how the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests helped stop Eversource’s Northern Pass plan to run 192 miles of giant power lines through the heart of the Granite State. Learn valuable leadership lessons that you can apply to the battles you and your organization face\, whether big or small. \nAbout the speakers\nJane Difley – President (retired)\, Society for the Protection of NH Forests \nFor 22 years\, Jane served as the president/forester of the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests\, one of the country’s most effective land conservation organizations. Under her leadership\, 85 new Forest Society reservations and 404 easements were in put in place to protect over 100\,000 acres of land. The Forest Society also led the charge to defeat the highly controversial Northern Pass project during Jane’s tenure. Additionally she broke ground by serving as the first woman elected president of the Society of American Foresters. \nBrad Campbell – President\, Conservation Law Foundation \nBradley M. Campbell is president of Conservation Law Foundation\, which uses the law\, science\, and markets to achieve a healthy and thriving New England for all. Before leading CLF\, his career holding polluters accountable included service as Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection\, as a Regional Administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency\, as a senior advisor in the Clinton White House\, and as a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice. \nBUY TICKETS

He teaches Asana\, Meditation and Yogic philosophy\, leading workshops and retreats in the US and internationally. \nHe is the author of The Mind Overlay and The Other Side of Me\, readable and engaging guides to inner transformation. \nAbout the Alnoba Peace Foundation \nA world in need of healing \nFrom climate change to the impact of technology on our minds and the economy\, our world is in crisis. A winner-take-all society isolates us from each other and from the earth that sustains us. Our communities are broken\, consumption and waste run rampant\, and we are severed from the healing power of the natural world. \nBoth we and the world need a change. Start that change on the inside. You can overcome the harmful and destructive patterns imposed on you by this broken world we’re living in\, opening to a more natural and authentic way of engaging with yourself and our planet. \nThe power to change \nThere are both ancient and pioneering tools you can use to rewrite your patterns\, breaking free of the old way of thinking and being as you tap into something stronger: a way of living that connects us harmoniously to both each other and the earth we share. \nManny Muros has spent decades studying\, practicing and sharing the spiritual techniques that lead to greater self-awareness and self-realization. His wisdom teachings are insights gained through a lifetime of deep practice and exploration. Through meditation and affirmative practices\, he teaches students how to center\, deconstruct old patterns and recover a truer way of being. \nThe sacred land of Alnoba\, with its pristine fields and forests and inspiring collection of outdoor art\, serves as a potent space for undertaking this journey of transformation. \nBe the difference \nTo use the ancient words of wisdom: as it is above\, so it is below. The world we cultivate inside ourselves makes a real impact on the one that surrounds us. By changing one\, we impact the other. \nStep forward into your own change\, breaking free of a paradigm that destroys both our well-being and that of our planet. Discover a healthier\, more authentic alternative that empowers you to be the change you seek.
