Our communities are broken\, consumption and waste run rampant\, and we are severed from the healing power of the natural world. \nBoth we and the world need a change. Start that change on the inside. You can overcome the harmful and destructive patterns imposed on you by this broken world we’re living in\, opening to a more natural and authentic way of engaging with yourself and our planet. \nThe power to change \nThere are both ancient and pioneering tools you can use to rewrite your patterns\, breaking free of the old way of thinking and being as you tap into something stronger: a way of living that connects us harmoniously to both each other and the earth we share. \nManny Muros has spent decades studying\, practicing and sharing the spiritual techniques that lead to greater self-awareness and self-realization. His wisdom teachings are insights gained through a lifetime of deep practice and exploration. Through meditation and affirmative practices\, he teaches students how to center\, deconstruct old patterns and recover a truer way of being. \nThe sacred land of Alnoba\, with its pristine fields and forests and inspiring collection of outdoor art\, serves as a potent space for undertaking this journey of transformation. \nBe the difference \nTo use the ancient words of wisdom: as it is above\, so it is below. The world we cultivate inside ourselves makes a real impact on the one that surrounds us. By changing one\, we impact the other. \nStep forward into your own change\, breaking free of a paradigm that destroys both our well-being and that of our planet. Discover a healthier\, more authentic alternative that empowers you to be the change you seek.

SUMMARY:Changemakers: Seeking Indigenous Truths
DESCRIPTION:Thursday May 4th from 5PM to 7PM. Doors open at 4PM for time to enjoy a glass of wine from the cash bar and explore Alnoba’s ground and art. \nShe describes herself as a storyteller through other people’s narratives and an angry activist. She also says of herself\, “I am stubborn\, and you will listen to me.” For us\, she is a daring leader who persistently seeks the truth and the person we choose to receive the first Alnoba Moment of Truth Award for Leadership Gender Equity. \nJoin us for an intimate conversation with Christa Big Canoe\, Legal Director for Aboriginal Legal Services\, who served as lead counsel for Canada’s National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Women and Girls. \nCanada was rocked by the discovery of thousands of unmarked graves at residential schools\, where Indigenous children were forcibly sent to strip them of their Native culture and language. Sanctioned by the government and many operated by the Catholic church\, this system has been called\, ‘cultural genocide.’ Christa spends a big part of her time representing families in inquest and with police advocacy. In Canada\, she now has a Special Interlocuter who is addressing these issues and refers families to that process; the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR) and Family Information Liaison Unit (FILU). \nHer work is emotional\, and it is hard\, yet Christa feels gratitude that families trust her with their stories. She gains courage knowing that her people have a ‘resiliency that comes from our blood memory\, our connection to the land and we have intergenerational strength. We have the truth.’ \nAbout the speaker\nChrista is the Legal Advocay Director for Aborignal Legal Services (ALS)\, a nonprofit organization that works with the families of missing and murdered indigenous women (MMIW) navigate the legal system to find justice for their loved ones. \nIn 2017\, Christa was appointed Senior and then Lead Commission Council for Canada’s National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. Christa took a two and a half year leave from her work at ALS to lead thirteen Indigenous lawyers\, twenty-six statement gatherers and a support team responsible for collecting truth from survivors and families. The testimonies from “truth finding gatherings” have created one of the largest evidentiary records in Canada. \nChrista also represented six of the seven families in the “Seven Youth Inquest” in Thunder Bay. This investigation of the deaths of seven Indigenous students resulted in 145 federal and provincial recommendations to improve accountability\, safety and education outcomes for Nishnawbe Aski Nation youths. While at Legal Aid Ontario\, she led the province-wide Aboriginal Justice Strategy aimed at removing barriers to the legal system for indigenous people. \n  \nBUY TICKETS

SUMMARY:Music Series: Kat Wright Trio
DESCRIPTION:*Located at our Alnoba 1848 Barn 199 South Road Kensington\, NH 03833\n\nKat Wright\, whose voice is both sultry and dynamic\, delicate yet powerful; gritty but highly emotive and nuanced\, has been described as “a young Bonnie Raitt meets Amy Winehouse”. Add to that voice enough stage presence to tame lions\, and the combination of feline femininity proves immediately enchanting. There’s soul flowing in and out of her rock ‘n’ roll with a serpentine seduction. Some of soul music’s sweet\, grand dames belt\, shout\, seethe\, and succumb\, while Wright sings gently like a heartache’s apology. It’s funky in spots and beautiful all over. And it hurts a little … like it should. She will be preforming her trio sessions.\n\nThis event will take place on the lawn by Alnoba’s 1848 Barn\, next to the waters of Charward Pond. In the event of rain\, we will move the music inside the barn. Cash bar with beer and wine available. Through ceremony\, ritual\, meditation\, and imagination\, Kristin will guide attendees in amplifying the energies of the Earth and the Cosmos\, returning to the right relationship with themselves and the planet.
