It’s bold and wild\, springing from Alnoba’s unique natural landscape and daring you to engage. \nThe collection includes masterworks by some of the most respected artists of our age\, including Andy Goldsworthy\, Orly Genger\, Jaume Plensa\, John Lopez\, Allan Houser and Ursula von Rydingsvard. \nOn your tour\, our enthusiastic volunteer guides will introduce you to the stories behind the artists and their work. Many of our pieces represent vital themes of social justice and sustainability\, challenging us all to go one step further than we thought we could toward a better world. \nGuided tour details \n\nWalk starts at 10AM promptly and lasts for roughly 90 minutes. Please make sure you are in the parking lot before then. Guide will meet you there.\nGuests must stay with the guide at all times.\nPlease dress appropriately for exploring the outdoors.\nWear appropriate footwear and bring a bottle of water and sunscreen.\nBe prepared to walk at an easy pace\, with some breaks\, for the full ninety minutes.\nAlnoba’s buildings are closed. That’s why Alnoba is home to several thought-provoking and powerful pieces by Indigenous artists. \nOn this special tour\, you’ll go deep into the meaning and significance of Alnoba’s two totem poles by Kwakwaka’wakw sculptor Calvin Hunt as well as our extensive collection of pieces by groundbreaking Apache sculptor and artist Allan Houser. \nHouser’s works explore themes of Indigenous spirituality and wisdom. He was the first Indigenous American awarded the National Medal of Arts. His father was a relative of Geronimo\, and his family was imprisoned along with other Apache resistance fighters in St. Augustine\, Florida for twenty years. DESCRIPTION:Inspire your children to connect more deeply to the outdoors with nature journaling! In this one-hour walk and exploration at Alnoba\, our guide will introduce the practice of nature journaling. Your kids will be able to start their own nature journals and leave with ideas for how to keep them up at home. \nYou’ll also be enjoying a walk along Alnoba’s trails over our Winkley Brook Bridge and up to the new Japanese Tea House nestled in pristine forest\, an area teaming with wildlife\, trees\, ferns\, moss and flowers. \nThis event is perfect for kids aged seven or up who can comfortably write simple words and draw pictures. \nKids will need to bring a blank notebook and pencils\, crayons or markers. \nTickets $10 per person. Tickets must be purchased for both adult and children attendees\, though infants under age 1 do not require a ticket. \nRules and guidelines \n\nWalk starts at 9:30AM promptly. DESCRIPTION:Alnoba’s Full Moon Walks are one of our most popular events\, taking an intimate group of guests on a guided walk through Alnoba’s artwork\, fields and trails under the light of the full moon. The materials used in Andy Goldsworthy’s art includes mud\, pinecones\, snow\, stone\, leaves\, twigs and water. \nOn this tour\, you’ll explore three Goldsworthy pieces – including one that is part of a private collection and rarely available for public viewing. \n\nWatershed Boulder\, a monumental installation that evolves with the rain\, ice and snow\nBoulder House\, constructed in-situ around an enormous glacial boulder\nPassage\, a powerful and experiential piece featured in the Andy Goldsworthy documentary Leaning Into The Wind\n\nAll proceeds from this event are donated to support Kensington’s Sawyer Park\, a 35-acre public community park that provides a safe and beautiful place for families from across the region to gather outside. \nGuided tour details \n\nDifficulty Level: Involving roughly 2 mile walk up and down hills and along narrow trails over uneven ground.\nRecommended for ages 10 and up.\nMeet your tour guide in the Alnoba parking lot at the tour start time. The management\, entrepreneurial and organizational whiz who championed to keep Big Sister of Greater Boston as the only Big Brothers Big Sisters of America affiliate that only serves girls and receive their national Agency of the Year Award. \nJoin us for this intimate and conversational event and rare opportunity to meet these three nationally recognized and soon to be retired wisdom-keepers as they share their stories of pioneering for change against the odds. \nAbout the speakers\nSusan Rodgerson – Founder\, Artists for Humanity \nSusan is an artist\, social entrepreneur and founder of Artists for Humanity (AFH).  For 30 years\, AFH has provided a place where teens are employed to explore and express their creative abilities.  It has become the largest onsite employer of Boston teens\, with 250 employed annually.  Under Susan’s leadership\, AFH developed a youth arts facility\, the EpiCenter\, which was Boston’s first LEED Platinum certified building.  Susan has received numerous awards for her leadership and AFH’s program model has been replicated internationally. \nMeg Campbell – Founder\, Codman Academy Charter School \nMeg is a poet\, activist and founder of Codman Academy\, an innovative Charter School in Dorchester\, which is the only high school in the U.S. located within a community health center.   Codman provides a transformative education and has one of the highest graduation rates in Boston.   Meg also helped found the Boston Women’s Heritage Trail and EL Education (formerly Expeditionary Learning Outward Bound) A former elected member of the Boston School Committee\, Meg continues to push for social justice in her beloved community and beyond. \nDeb Re – CEO\, Big Sisters Association of Greater Boston \nDeb Re is an management and organizational development expert.   For the past sixteen years\, she has guided Big Sisters Boston through growth and big changes.  Serving 4\,000 girls annually\, Big Sisters Boston was recognized by the Big Brothers Big Sisters network with the distinguished Agency of the Year award and it continues to be the only affiliate solely serving girls.   Deb is an unrelenting champion of empowering girls and was named one of the Heroes Among Us by the Boston Celtics and a Woman of Influence by the Boston Business Journal. \nBUY TICKETS

Many of our pieces represent vital themes of social justice and sustainability\, challenging us all to go one step further than we thought we could toward a better world. \nGuided tour details \n\nWalk starts at 10AM promptly and lasts for roughly 90 minutes. Please make sure you are in the parking lot before then. Guide will meet you there.\nGuests must stay with the guide at all times.\nPlease dress appropriately for exploring the outdoors.\nWear appropriate footwear and bring a bottle of water and sunscreen.\nBe prepared to walk at an easy pace\, with some breaks\, for the full ninety minutes.\nAlnoba’s buildings are closed. DESCRIPTION:Alnoba’s Full Moon Walks are one of our most popular events\, taking an intimate group of guests on a guided walk through Alnoba’s artwork\, fields and trails under the light of the full moon. Finish the evening with a gathering around the bonfire in our Big Top Field.  \nOur guides will share stories of the history of Alnoba’s land. In September\, we will explore the myths and stories of the Corn Moon\, named for the harvest of this key Indigenous crop. \nRules and guidelines \n\nWalk starts promptly at 6PM. It is built of Pacific redwood to traditional specifications for a light\, airy experience that makes you feel as though you are floating among the trees. \nThese classes are limited to just six people. \nAbout Karyl Misserville \nKaryl is a registered yoga teacher with over 400 hours of training in Asana\, Pranayama\, Meditation and Philosophy. She has additional training in Yin\, Restorative and Yoga Nidra. Karyl teahces Ashtanga-based Vinyasa as well as Chair Yoga. Karyl loves helping students develop a mind-body connection through slow\, strong movement and breath awareness. \nRules and guidelines \n\nWalk to the teahouse starts at 10AM.
