DESCRIPTION:Andy Goldsworthy Art Tours\n$20\n9:30am-12pm\nA special docent led tour with the opportunity to experience Andy Goldsworthy’s four outdoor sculptures. \nAll proceeds donated to Sawyer Park. \nAbout this event\nWalks lasts roughly 3 hours on wooded trails over some uneven terrain. \nAndy Goldsworthy is a sculptor\, photographer and environmentalist who produces site-specific sculptures and land art in natural and urban settings. The materials used in Andy Goldsworthy’s art includes mud\, pinecones\, snow\, stone\, leaves\, twigs and water. \nOn this tour\, a docent will take you on an exploration of three Goldsworthy pieces – including two pieces that are special to this tour. \n\nWatershed Boulder\, a monumental installation that evolves with the rain\, ice and snow\nBoulder House\, constructed in-situ around an enormous glacial boulder\nFive Ten\, an impactful native stone building built around a recently discovered rustic and timeless car that tells a story through unique features in its wheel\, and bullet holes throughout the chassis.\n\nGuided tour details\n\nDifficulty Level: Involving roughly 2 mile walk up and down hills and along narrow trails over uneven ground.\nRecommended for ages 10 and up.\nMeet your tour guide in the Alnoba parking lot at the tour start time. Tours leave promptly – please arrive in plenty of time. Guests who arrive after the group has departed will not be able to join the tour.\nNo dogs allowed.\nBuildings are closed. A portable restroom is available in the parking lot.\nHiking shoes and casual attire recommended. Bring bug spray and sunscreen.\n\nPrivate tours of our Andy Goldsworthy pieces are also available for $200 for up to 10 people. This immersive experience uses guided breathwork\, mindfulness\, and time in nature to deepen our connection to the land\, ourselves\, and all beings. \nInspired by animistic and shamanic traditions\, you’ll explore the interconnectedness of life while moving gently through Alnoba’s woods and art installations. Along the way\, you’ll receive educational insights on flora and fauna\, pause for reflection\, and honor the wisdom of those who have come before us. \nWhat to expect: Opening circle\, guided nature walk\, mindfulness practices\, nature education\, and a closing share. \nWhat to bring: Weather-appropriate clothing\, water\, a small journal (optional)\, and an open heart and mind. \nWe look forward to walking with you. \nAbout Rooted Rose Recreation \nFounders Erika Halaby and Domenic LaRosa came together in 2020 and founded RR in 2021.
