Music Series: Kat Wright Trio

Kat Wright, whose voice is both sultry and dynamic, delicate yet powerful; gritty but highly emotive and nuanced, has been described as “a young Bonnie Raitt meets Amy Winehouse”. Add to that voice enough stage presence to tame lions, and the combination of feline femininity proves immediately enchanting. There’s soul flowing in and out of her rock ‘n’ roll with a serpentine seduction. Some of soul music’s sweet, grand dames belt, shout, seethe, and succumb, while Wright sings gently like a heartache’s apology. It’s funky in spots and beautiful all over. And it hurts a little … like it should. She will be preforming her trio sessions.
This event will take place on the lawn by Alnoba’s 1848 Barn, next to the waters of Charward Pond. In the event of rain, we will move the music inside the barn. Cash bar with beer and wine available. Bring your own chairs and blankets and grab a spot.
Schedule
• 5PM – Enjoy a glass of beer or wine from the cash bar and explore the property
• 6PM – Band starts
• 8PM – Event ends

• Enter the property by the Pinnacle Studio – put 199 South Road, Kensington into your GPS
• After pulling into 199 South Road, proceed down the driveway and follow signs for parking
• No dogs, please – just your human family members
• Bug spray and sunscreen are recommended
• In the event of rain, the event will be held inside the 1848 Barn
