Alnoba Art Tours
May 11 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm$15
Alnoba’s renowned art collection was created to inspire, delight, challenge and provoke.
Here, art isn’t something precious admired from a distance. It’s bold and wild, springing from Alnoba’s unique natural landscape and daring you to engage.
The collection includes masterworks by some of the most respected artists of our age, including Andy Goldsworthy, Orly Genger, Jaume Plensa, John Lopez, Allan Houser and Ursula von Rydingsvard.
On your tour, our enthusiastic volunteer guides will introduce you to the stories behind the artists and their work. Many of our pieces represent vital themes of social justice and sustainability, challenging us all to go one step further than we thought we could toward a better world.
Our collection will be expanding in 2021, with new pieces finding their home at Alnoba throughout the season.
GUIDED TOUR DETAILS
- Meet your tour guide in the Alnoba parking lot at the tour start time. Tours leave promptly – please arrive in plenty of time. Guests who arrive after the tour has departed will be asked to leave the property.
- Tour guests are required to wear masks. Please note that your docent might not be wearing a mask. This is to facilitate her being heard while projecting her voice outdoors.
- Please observe social distancing protocols by remaining six feet apart from any guests who are not part of your household. It’s okay to step off trails into the woods to do this!
- No dogs allowed.
*Due to its location, the guided tour will not include Andy Goldsworthy, “Boulder House”.
The tour takes place outdoors, sometimes on uneven terrain, with a roughly 2 mile walk. The area around Andy Goldsworthy’s “Watershed Boulder” requires a climb up a fairly steep hill that may be difficult for those with mobility issues. Hiking shoes and casual attire recommended. Bring bug spray or sunscreen. No dogs permitted on the property.
Cancellations: Alnoba’s art is as lovely in a light rain as it is on a sunny day. Our art tours are not cancelled unless thunderstorms or heavy rain are predicted. If a tour is cancelled, guests will be offered either a refund or an opportunity to move their reservation to another date.
Price: $15 advance purchase. All proceeds are donated to Kensington’s Sawyer Park. Tickets are nonrefundable.
